Kuwait is set to become the latest GCC country to dramatically increase official fees for intellectual property transactions. The official announcement is expected to be published on 21 December 2015.
Although not yet officially confirmed, the fee increase is expected to be significant, with one trade mark filing (single class) rising from $25 to $264, and further costs for progressing the trade mark increasing from $95 to $1,586. The new costs are expected to affect all new matters from 21 December 2015, and also retroactively to pending trade mark applications.
